When people think of downtown Eureka Springs, they usually have in mind either the Flat Iron Building or the Basin Park Hotel. After doing several realistic paintings of the iconic Spring Street view, this abstracted interpretation more closely captured the essence of the scene without a lot of detail. It adequately communicates my profound love for Eureka Springs, the town I discovered as a teenager. I still enjoy walking almost daily through its lovely historic district, the vibrant heart of our city. This was painted during John Willer’s workshop at ESSA. Those who are familiar with John’s work can see his influence.
